Community Involvement 2017

Overview

At Saint J Subaru, we firmly believe that giving back to the community you live in is essential to growth and development.  If it wasn't for you guys, we wouldn't be where we are today.  One of the ways we try to say thank you, is by being fairly active with the community events and organizations that need our help.  Our involvement in the community grows on a daily basis, but these are a few of the most recent partnerships we have created.

Events

At Saint J Subaru, we firmly believe that giving back to the community you live in is essential to growth and development.  If it wasn't for you guys, we wouldn't be where we are today.  One of the ways we try to say thank you, is by being fairly active with the community events and organizations that need our help.  Our involvement in the community grows on a daily basis, but these are a few of the most recent partnerships we have created.

The Annual Catamount Arts "All Wheel for the Arts" Car Raffle

Every year we partner with the local Arts Center, Catamount Arts, and raffle off a car to one lucky winner. A limited number of tickets are sold and around Christmas time each year we hold the raffle at our dealership.  We invite everyone to come down and see if they are the lucky winner!  It's exciting to see and hear the excitement and to GIVE AWAY A CAR!

Green Up Day

We have been an official Pick-Up/Drop-Off Location since 2009 and will continue to do so for a long time.  We believe our community is beautiful and want to keep it as clean as possible.  We offer a free BBQ to all volunteers who drop off trash to thank them for their efforts!

Caledonia County Relay for Life

We have all been touched by cancer, whether through family, friends, co-workers, community members, or our own battles. Our company and our employees pulled together to form our own fundraising team, Saint J Auto’s Happy Feet, and want to thank everyone who supported us!

HOPE Backpack Drive

In a post on February 5, HOPE posted a short message on Facebook. It read, “Good morning all! We are very short on backpacks if any of you have some old ones you'd like to donate we would be very grateful! Thank you!” Saint J Subaru saw the post and reacted quickly, purchasing 100 backpacks and working with employees and local business to help restock their shelves.  Helping Other People Every Day (HOPE) is a “Goodwill” type of thrift store Located in Lyndonville, Vermont. HOPE accepts donations of food, clothing, household goods, books, etc. Families can receive vouchers to purchase needed clothing for children or other family members. They are an emergency food shelf and pack up at least 50 book bags a week to send home with children who may not have enough food over the weekend. They help people who have lost everything in a fire, or families who are leaving a domestic violence situation. They also make up birthday bags for senior citizens and deliver hundreds of toys and winter clothing items to families at Christmas.

Race to the Top of Bradford

A 3.5 mile run and a 1.5 mile Fun Run/Walk happens every year in Bradford, VT where all of the registration proceeds go to benefit the Friends of Wrights MT Fund, which is used to maintain the Wrights MT/Devil's Den Town Forest.  We are proud to support this event every year!

Snow Much Fun Softball Tournament

Beginning in 2009 all proceeds are going to help the Prevent Child Abuse Organization and the 2015 Tournament helped raise $4,700 that was distributed to the Prevent Child Abuse Organizations of Vermont and New Hampshire (also known as the New Hamsphire Childrens Trust).   Child Abuse happens far too often, yet is a cause that isn't always thought of when people want to help others.    This tournament gives people a chance to help abused children, while having the fun of playing softball in an unorthadoxed manner. We are a proud sponsor of this event and hope it has ongoing success in future events.

Danville Boy Scouts
We support the Danville Boy Scouts every year during the Great Vermont Corn Maze's "Dead North" haunted maze show. They operate the concession stand at the end of the ghoulishly scary and fun maze. Please help us support them by purchasing a delicious hot dog, hamburg, hot chocolate, and more!

Gene McDonough Golf Tournament

Lyndon State Athletics
We're proud to support Lyndon State College Athletics! Want to catch a game? Check out their schedule HERE.

Lyndonville Little League

Nick Sweet #88 Racing
Saint J Subaru has been sponsoring Nick Sweet, driver of the #88 car, since 2008. He brought home four Feature Wins last season, including Thunder Road’s coveted “King of the Road” Track Championship! Nick Sweet is a class act in the stock car racing world and we are very proud to be his sponsor again this year.

Norris Cotton Cancer Center

Rock the Hills
St. J Auto has been a key sponsor of Rock the Hills since their 2009-2010 season. We have employees, customers, and friends, who participate and enjoy watching the races, so the partnership makes a lot of sense. Everyone at Rock the Hills has been great to work with and we thoroughly enjoy being involved with their events. Besides, what’s better to pull your snowmobile trailer than a GMC Sierra, Yukon, Acadia, or Terrain?!  Learn More about Rock the Hills HERE.

Skating Club at Dartmouth
The Skating Club at Dartmouth (SCAD) is a volunteer run, cooperative skating club (and is not affiliated with Dartmouth College).  SCAD began in the 1940s and has been the home club for a great many talented and enthusiastic skaters.  SCAD is a member of the US Figure Skating Association and offers a range programs designed to suit the needs of area skaters. Learn More About them HERE.

St. Johnsbury Academy Golf Tournament
Saint J Subaru is a proud sponsor of the St. J Academy Benefit golf tournament every year. We may not win, but we certainly have a great time supporting such a great school!

St. Johnsbury Little League & Babe Ruth
St. J Auto sponsors St. Johnsbury Little League Baseball and Softball because we believe that they’re great programs for kids in our community to develop their athletic skills, as well as a great way for them to stay active and learn the importance and value of teamwork. Learn More About the League HERE.

Charities & Non-Profits

At Saint J Subaru, we firmly believe that giving back to the community you live in is essential to growth and development.  If it wasn't for you guys, we wouldn't be where we are today.  One of the ways we try to say thank you, is by being fairly active with the community events and organizations that need our help.  Our involvement in the community grows on a daily basis, but these are a few of the most recent partnerships we have created.

Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium
Saint J Subaru brought a big check to the Fairbanks Museum on Thursday, April 14 – the amount and the check itself were both oversized! District Sales Manager Michael Hutchings represented Subaru of New England and came to the Museum to deliver the “Share the Love” gift of $23,526.95!  “This amount includes $19,104.94 from Saint J Subaru plus a bonus of $4,422 from New England Subaru,” explains Hutchings. “It’s a pleasure to support the Museum in this way.”  Mike Loschiavo comments, “It’s a decision we make as a team. Everyone in our dealership gets involved, and we’re happy to help our community by supporting the Museum.”  Saint J Subaru sponsored the Fairbanks Museum in 2013, 2014 & 2015. This gift, which is based on new car sales, is more than double the previous amount.

Kingdom Animal Shelter
Saint J Subaru loves animals - that's why we are a pet-friendly facility!  We partnered with the local animal shelter for the last 6 years to raise awareness and money for their shelter.  We have an in house event that has not only Santa Paws, Nail Trimming and a Stuff-A-Subaru Shelter Supply Drive, but also has a bake sale in the showroom as well as a Quilt Raffle.

Good Karma Rescue
2016 will be the first year partnering with this Rescue Shelter, but we are looking forward to a very successful event.  Details about that will come soon.

St. Johnsbury Meals On Wheels
Our local Meals on Wheels program is in serious demand so we try to help.  Every year, we help them deliver their Thanksgiving Meal Delivery.  We bring a couple of Subaru's down to the Dining Room, load them full of the deliveries (and the regular delivery driver) and play chauffeur for the day.
